Utility-Scale Solar Piling With GPS Accuracy
Solar farms live or die on setout accuracy and throughput — thousands of piles need to land on survey so the tracker and module install that follows is not fighting tolerance. We design and set up the GPS base station for the EPC and other contractors on site, then drive to that datum.
On the Bannerton PV Solar Farm we installed 46,000 steel piles by GPS using our Vermeer PD10 automated pile drivers, and provided design, engineering and site management of the mechanical package.
